Total presumptive income u/s
44AD Section 44AD of the Indian Income Tax Act provides for a presumptive taxation scheme for small businesses whose total turnover or gross receipts do not exceed Rs. 2 crore. Under this scheme, eligible taxpayers engaged in certain businesses can declare a percentage of their total gross receipts as income and pay tax on that income without maintaining regular books of accounts or undergoing a tax audit. The percentage varies depending on the nature of the business, and taxpayers cannot claim any deductions or allowances against their income. This scheme significantly reduces the compliance burden for small businesses.
